The dissertation is usually about your own research, not a given question/topic, and therefore the structure includes chapters such as ‘Research Methodology’, ‘Findings’, and ‘Discussion of Findings’. The structure of the dissertation is discussed in section 7.

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A THESIS OR DISSERTATION

If you use symbols in your thesis or dissertation, you may combine them with your abbreviations, titling the section 8775 LIST OF ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS 8776 , or you may set up a separate list of symbols and their definitions by following the formatting instructions above for abbreviations. The heading you choose must be in all capital letters and centered 6&Prime below the top of the page.
